The Mechanics Series is a prevocational job skills training system designed for use by individuals with learning, cognitive, or vision disabilities. This series of twelve (12) duplicatable books can be used by high school students and adults and are designed to help develop job readiness and pre-vocational job skills. Lessons include information contained in traditional vocational/technical textbooks but at lower reading levels with larger fonts and can be used independently or in groups. The books include: General Operating Principles (basic engine parts, diesel engines/two stroke diesel, crankshaft degrees, above and below piston, connecting engine parts, engine cycles, etc.); Fuel System/Carburetors (fuel system introduction to carburetors and carburetor circuits); Lubrication (auto lubrication system, procedures for an oil change); Cooling Systems; Ignition Systems; Electrical Circuit; Hydraulics; Engine Tune-Up; Air Conditioning; and Close Review Questions. The duplicatable books are in available in digital format (Word and/or PDF) at no additional cost, after purchase. This allows the print materials to be enlarged and/or the materials to be put into alternate formats.
