myHomework Student Planner is designed for students 10 years older organize their classes, homework, and daily routine. It can be used by students with dyslexia, auditory processing problems, ADD and dyscalculia. The app can be customized. Users enter their class details into the calendar, and can add homework descriptions with the tap of a button. Users set the due dates, time, and identify high, medium, or low priority. They can also set up reminders. On the home tabbed screen, the user can view a list of classes on the right and corresponding tasks on the right. Tasks to be completed appear at the top of the screen and completed tasks are underneath. Users can sort by class, priority, or by type of assignment.
The next tabbed screen is a calendar view that appears on the top left. Underneath is a list of classes for the day, and on the left is a list of tasks due for that day. The third tab is the homework tab that brings up a screen with completed, late and upcoming tasks. To mark an assignment as complete, it has to have reached the day that the user assigned it as due. If the assignment is complete early and the user wants to mark it, they have to change the due date to the current date.
When users sign up for a myHomework account it syncs data across all devices making it easy to login from anywhere and access assignments. There is a also a feature for teachers to set up an account, so students can join the class and see their assignments. The app was trialed with junior high and high school students who normally struggle with organization and productivity. Since they are on their mobile devices often, the myHomework Student app was a convenient way for them to check assignments, mark completed tasks, and be reminded of upcoming due dates.
